The intention behind this blog is to shed light on underrepresented, under-read, & underrated poets & poems. While it is my goal to encourage the appreciation of poets such as Robinson, Melville, and others, I don't intend to be limited by this; I may very well talk about some more widely-read poets, or writers. I may talk about video games. Whatever subject I decide to share, there will still be the intended theme of underrated poets which I will always come back to.

Tristram
I've decided to start this blog because I just read Edwin Arlington Robinson's Tristram, and I feel that his work as a whole is underrepresented in U.S. Literature. Tristram is a major accomplishment for this poet. It explores the themes put forth in poems like "Richard Cory," "Archibald's Example," and "Mr. Flood's Party," but develops these themes more deeply because of the room in which it is allowed to do so. I'll leave some other posts to analyze how this is done; I simply wanted to express how worthwhile this poem is to read.
